FAQ’s

Q: Can I order a smaller quantity than what’s listed on your site?

A: Unfortunately no, not at this time at least. Our traditional customers are restaurants and we cannot break the boxes and we’re able to offer a discount by selling in bulk.

Q: Can I place an order over the phone?

A: No, we’re not able to accept credit card numbers over the phone. But we’d be happy to talk to you, answer any questions you may have and then help you place your order at www.marxfoods.com

Q: Why are all the products sold in bulk and how does it work out portion-wise?

A: Most products are sold in bulk so we can pass on a discount and saved shipping costs. Plus, we’re a restaurant distributor so this is one of the trade offs. Several of our items are delivered frozen and can either be consumed right away or kept for later meals. Many products are individually wrapped for easy freezing and some are already broken into portion size.

The shipment size and portions will vary from product to product. For example 10 lbs. of Kobe Beef Burgers equals about 20 burgers at $3.78 per burger (before shipping). Five lbs. of ravioli works out to about 15 main course portions equaling $5.52 per serving (before shipping). When put into perspective you can see the savings vs. ordering these items in a restaurant.

Q: Is there a way to save on shipping?

A: Yes. If you’re ordering several items from the same category, give us a call and we’ll do our best to group the items and pass on the savings.

Q: How soon will my order ship?

A: This varies from product to product, but typically orders are shipped the following day and sent overnight. Non-perishable items are sent ground to save on shipping costs. If there is a certain day you’d like your order to arrive, just let us know. Someone must be present to receive and sign for the order.

Q: What kind of special requests are accommodated?

A: If you’re looking for a specialty food item and can’t find it, we do our best to source it for you. We have access to about 5,000 items. Typically we try to turn special requests into regular items on our site. If you have any ideas for products we can add, we’d love to hear them! Please contact Katy at info@marxfoods.com.

Q: Where do the products originate?

A: From every corner of the U.S. and many parts of the world. For example our veal comes from Quebec and New Zealand, Palm leaf dinnerware from South India, and Artisanal ravioli from Connecticut.

Q: How can I submit a recipe to MarxFoods.com?

A: If you have an original recipe, using a product from MarxFoods.com and don’t mind if it’s reprinted or distributed, please include your name, city and state and submit it via e-mail to Emily at  emily@marxfoods.com.

Q: Is there someone I can speak to in person if I have more questions?

A: Yes! Our general manager, Katy would be happy to chat with you and answer any questions . Feel free to e-mail her at info@marxfoods.com or call (866) 588-MARX.
